Obesity

Obesity (Medoroga) is explained as an excess of body fat, and is different to being excess weight which may be connect to muscle, bone or body water. Around the globe, obesity is unfortunately a very common and growing concern. Now, obesity has become an epidemic.

Practicing yoga is one of the best effective ayurvedic techniques used to eliminate obesity. The Ayurvedic approach to drugs in general is quite different from what we’ve been used to. Herbal supplements can be of great benefit in weight control without the negative side effects of conventional drugs. With the diet therapy alone, the treatment of obesity is incomplete. Diet can avoid the further possibilities of obesity, but the fat has to be treated and the defective metabolism must be corrected, which is done by Ayurvedic medicines. These medicines improve fat metabolism in an obese individual. Once a person’s metabolism is correct it is easy for him to maintain his weight.

Soak 1tsp fenugreek seed in water for a night and munch them early in the morning on empty stomach. It will reduce your cholesterol and excess fats. Jaharmorha is another Ayurvedic drug used in the treatment of cardio-vascular diseases. It is a yellowish-green soft stone found in the Himalayas. Its powder is processed with rose water and administered to heart patients. Triphala Guggul is yet another ayurvedic preparation found useful in reducing cholesterol levels.

High blood cholesterol

High blood cholesterol can be improved by changing the lifestyle and diet. High blood cholesterol doesnt show any kind of signs. There is a high chance of risk factor for cardiovascular disease. This will eventually lead to a heart attack or a stroke. The ayurvedic treatment procedures help the patient’s medical condition often feel fine. Unhealthy levels of cholesterol are almost linked to a poor diet, physical inactivity, smoking, stress, drinking alcohol excessively, obesity/being overweight, age and heredity.

Diabetes

Diabetes (Prameha or Madhumeha) is the disease described in the Ayurvedic literature that correlates to the modern day diabetes mellitus. Diabetes is widespread globally ranking as one of the most common chronic disease. Millions of people all over the world suffer from Diabetes for years and increasing every year.

Diet and regimen
Avoid all objects that contain sugar from diet
Take plenty of green vegetables, black gram, soy, fish etc
Intake of citric acid content food items, may be taken as and when needed
Take barley soaked in a triphala decoction overnight, then mixed with honey and eaten several times a day
Reduce fats, especially butter and ghee from diet
